Social Studies

This week we move to China. The book project was due May 14th but late work

will be accepted until May 21st.

Students should read, watch, and/or listen to the current news about the world to be prepared to share and discuss in class.

 

 

Language Arts

  Science and language arts are teaming up for a Celebration of the Landscape: poetry and habitat.  

 

Friday, 4/20 - paper on William and Emmanuel due; any items needed for this are on the Africa Resource webpage.  

 

Tuesday, 5/15 - 8th graders: final speeches are due.  Wednesday starts the presentations.

 

Thursday, 5/17 - 7th graders: Due date change: hopefully the  3 versions of your landscape ode should be on poster board by the end of class.

Upcoming assignments: 

-Ode poetic device interpretation sheets will be due early next week. 

-A poetic device vocabulary quiz will hopefully be Friday of this week or early next week.

  • Be reading 15-25 minutes every night or ~2 hours per week to meet your Trimester 3 reading goals of 5 books with either 2 different authors, subjects, or genres.  Complete reading logs after each book.  
  • Blog post will now focus on assigned class topics with specific due dates attached.

Math 8:

Week of 4/16 - 5/18: *** All work related to this unit is to be completed by this Friday in class.  

Students will be working with the Pythagorean Theorem Unit and Assessment.

 

Week of 3/26 - 3/30 - Students will be working on basic math skill storyboards.  Those who have not completed their Stats project, this is your first priority.
